New Coffees arriving in Perth
We’ve got some great new coffees already on the water and have just booked a few more. A few perennials plus some exciting new offerings…
Colombia - Los Naranjos farmers Group lot. Great example from farmers in San Augustin, Huila. Samples came up with rich cocoa, cherry fruit and creamy mouthfeel. We’ve enjoyed coffee from the area twice in years gone by - can’t wait to revisit.
Burundi - a specially selected micro lot for us known as Nemba. From a country that’s moving forward with great quality coffees. Expect a bright lively fruit cup.
Brasil - we have a few bags from one of the country’s most awarded farms arriving anticipating bright orange and lemon citrus, super sweet, caramel and tabacco qualities (Recreio) also a nice smooth and rich cup from Bahia with inviting chocolate and rich plumb notes (Fazenda Machado)
Boliva - arriving a little late but carefully packed and sealed is the San Juan 8 Estrellas a coffee we have been wanting to try for a couple of years from farmer Juan Ticona in Yungas plus a selection from Valentin Choquehuanca of Caranavi, a recognised Cup of Excellence winning farmer whos produce comes to us vacuum packed in 22kg bricks of gold:)
Costa Rica - Zamorama Dulce (Honey Processed) from Alajuela sweet, chocolate with high notes of lemon and orange citrus joins the mighty Herabazu from Occidental Valley, a consistent coffee known for its citrus and caramel notes and wonderful mouthfeel and lovely acidity. Third year for us with Herabazu and can’t wait!
El Salvador - with the Costa Ricans arrives an early El Salvador from finca La Fany in the Apaneca Ilamatepec Mountains. Known for its creamy caramel notes and a great mouthfeel that makes for outstanding single origin espresso. We are looking also forward to new (for us) first time arrivals from other great farmers from this favourite origin for great green!
Rwanada - Finally the CoE #5 winning lot will complete its journey to Perth. Our last cupping of samples is remembered for a wonderful sparkling orange/ mandarin acidity and sweet lingering finish.
Plenty to look out for at Ristretto 160 Central Arcade and Howard Street Coffee by Ristretto.
